Heart Shaped Digital Photo Frame

NEC announced today that they are developing non rentangular TFT displays, starting with the prototype you see in the above picture: the heart shaped digital photo frame.
Recently other LCD manufacturers introduced simple shape non rentangular displays, like circles, rounded corners rectangles, elipses and so, but none of them were as complex as the heart shaped display from NEC. That's because the more complicated the shape harder it is to make the wiring necesary for the display to operate, this increasing the border of the display and the power consumption.
But NEC's proprietary technology that integrates the driver circuits into the module along the perimeter of the LCD glass allows for varoius shapes of displays with slim borders. We might soon see a LCD display in the shape of a car or a boat or whatever you can think of.
